About the Workshop The Advanced Optical Methods Workshop is an annual workshop held on the UC Berkeley campus to further imaging applications in all areas of research. This year we are very excited to present a 3-day multi-disciplinary workshop – one day longer than previous ventures. Focus will be on the latest advances in imaging biological, chemical and physical structure and processes. The workshop has 3 main components: 1, presentations by world-renowned scientists from UC Berkeley and Beyond; 2, hands-on demonstrations of imaging technology; and 3, opportunities for discussion and collaboration with top imaging experts and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. This year, topics will include: confocal, multi-photon microscopy, fluorescent lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), calcium imaging, deep-tissue imaging, spectral imaging, single molecule detection techniques, bioinformatics, and FRET. All seminars will be held on the UC Berkeley campus. Demonstrations will be held in the CRL Molecular Imaging Center and the CNR Biological Imaging Facility. Space is limited. Please register early. Who Should Attend The 4th Annual Advanced Optical Methods Workshop is open to anyone seeking more knowledge in the arena of optics and microscopy. This workshop is intended for academic and industry researchers interested in learning about optical microscopy techniques or improving current imaging systems. It is available for all levels of expertise, including graduate students, post-doctorate researchers, primary investigators, technicians, and professional researchers. The earlier sessions in the seminar series will be designed to bring beginners up to speed so they may appreciate the more advanced talks. |
